WHAT IS OBESITY? WHO ARE DEFINED AS “OBESE”?

Obesity is the high rate of body weight beyond normal levels comparing to the height of the individual which is caused by the increased rate of fat mass compared to the fat-free mass of the body.

As for men, 15% of the body weight is fat, while this rate is 20% for women. By the increase of such rates, the obesity gradually takes progress.

In today's world where elevators, escalators and desk jobs, in brief the inactivity increased and most importantly the fast food-type nutrition is fashion or unavoidable, and hormone-injected foodstuffs are consumed extremely, the obesity is inevitable. Obesity has become a health problem for more than 30% of the population in our country and the world. SPORTS and DIET are two most significant arguments to fight obesity. However, the studies assert that more than 90% of obese people return to their former weights in 1,5 – 2 years.
